Service Plumber & HVAC Technician - Plainville, MA - Thrasher Plumbing & Heating

Position Summary

Thrasher Plumbing Heating & Cooling is seeking an experienced and dedicated Service Plumber and HVAC Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a versatile professional with a strong background in residential service work for both plumbing and HVAC systems. This role requires exceptional diagnostic skills, the ability to perform a variety of repairs and installations, and excellent customer service.


Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect, diagnose, and resolve issues with residential plumbing systems, including fixtures, pipes, and drains.
  • Perform service work and replacement of various plumbing fixtures, such as faucets, shower valves, toilets, and water heaters.
  • Install, maintain, and repair heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, including furnaces, air conditioning units, heat pumps, and thermostats.
  • Perform routine maintenance on HVAC systems to ensure optimal performance and energy efficiency.
  • Provide clear and honest communication with customers, explaining the nature of the problem, the recommended solution, and associated costs.
  • Complete all necessary documentation accurately and on time, including service reports, invoices, and work orders.
  • Adhere to all relevant safety and building codes and maintain a clean, safe, and professional work environment.
  • Maintain and organize all company-provided tools and vehicle.


Qualifications and Skills

  • Must-Have Skills and Experience
  • 5+ years of experience as a service technician in residential plumbing and/or HVAC.
  • Experience with residential fixture replacement (faucets, shower trims, etc.).
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and diagnose complex plumbing and HVAC issues.
  • Service furnaces, boilers and air conditioning systems.
  • Replacement of furnaces, boilers and air conditioning systems.  
  •  Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Relevant state or local licenses for plumbing and/or HVAC.
  • EPA Section 608 Certification for handling refrigerants.
  • Excellent customer service skills and a professional, positive attitude.
  • Strong problem-solving, time management, and organizational skills.
